Accessorial school for children with psychophisiological disturbancies This establishment was founded in 1962. It is situated on the skirts of Minsk, and houses 160 children. It is obvious that the children are difficult to deal with, but Deputy Director Liliya Felixovna told me about them with tenderness and love. At first, she was quite suspicious about the literature, because it happens that parents (often feeble-minded too) complain that their children read religious books. But when she saw what I brought she changed her attitude, and we at once went to classes and handed the books over to the children. The matter is that many books of the Bible Society (such as Christian ABC, Album for coloring and others) help stimulate mental process. I described each book and told the children about the important truths the books proclaim. The mind of these poor kids is unable to grasp to the full extent what I talk, but we hope that the Spirit of God will lift the curtain and enlighten children’s hearts with His divine light. Sasha (photo on the right) was born in Minsk and brought here eight years ago. He has an older sister; his parents visit him quite often. Katya (photo on the left) is 15. She previously attended school for normal children, but three years ago she was taken here. When I look into the bright eyes of the kids I believe that God’s Word will find way to their hearts.
