Asipovichi boarding school for children suffering from sequelae of poliomyelitis and cerebral palsy
There are 83 children at the school, who range in age from 3 to 20 years. 29 children are orphans.
Vika, 5 (right photo), is a victim of cerebral palsy. Her mother has no job because of her sound mind, and never visits the child. Natalya Mikhailovna the director of the boarding school says, “Our children are very talented. Despite their physical and mental deficiencies they attend the circles for embroidery and beadwork, and learn how to sing and dance. We try to develop them in many ways, and Christian literature will be very helpful to us in this respect. |
Volodya, 5, came from children’s home. The boy suffers from derangement of somatic system which has been provoked by birth trauma. His parents are deprived of parental rights. In the past Vodolya was not able to walk at all, but various intensive procedures (such as massage, paraffin treatment etc) have helped to improve his condition and he now is able to walk. The boarding school’s administration have sent letters to the mother asking her to come and see her son, but she keeps changing places of her residence, and gives no reply.
