Budslav-2004 Exhibition

This event was given by the "Pleneria" initiative group. At this exhibition there were displayed the paintings designed during and after the Budslav celebration in honor of the icon of Budslav Godmother and the plain-air which came next. Participators in the plain-air, the BS's representatives had been invited to the exhibition. Among the guests of honour there were Rev. Slavomir, the prior of Belarusian National Sanctuary of Budslav Godmother, Nickalai Kireyev, the emeritus art character and the professor of painting department of Belarusian Academy of Arts, Viktor Nemtsov, deputy chairman of the Union of Artists, Hendrik Yagudinsky, charge d'affaires a.i. of Vatican in Belarus, Igor Mikhailov, the Executive Director of the Bible Society in Belarus.
Igor Mikhailov drew the audience's attention to the value of the conversion of the painters to the glorification of Christian values and national devotional articles. Bearing the message of Christian nature, the painting addresses our people and awakes them to a desire of striving for good, purity, mercy. It is worthy of commendation that our painters have turned to this bed in their painting, and we hope a good tradition will grow out of this initiative, and many will turn to be participants of such plain-airs. It's been our special joy to have seen the pieces of art by Igor Gardiyonak among the exhibits. Deep and creative relationships are a bond between us and Igor. This gifted painter had taken part in artistic presentation of our books, and we hope that our fruitful collaboration will see further development in the future. Participation in the exhibition provided an opportunity of forming a useful connection with the library named after L.Tolstoi, a famous writer of the past. We also got to know Aleg Drobyshevsky the painter, and agreed on our mutual cooperation. The whole event went in a friendly atmosphere, and left us filled with good impressions and sanguine hopes for future projects.
