Description:
The Bible Society pays great attention to such a destitute category of the population as the deaf, which number about 16,000 in our Republic. They are united into 1 central, 6 regional and 14 inter-district unions throughout the country and work in 10 special industrial enterprises. The deaf and deaf-and- mute invalids often cannot find a decent job, therefore their disability pension provides a major part of their means of subsistence. It is extremely important to provide this category of people with spiritual literature, as the spiritual consolation will give them a new lease of life in their sorrows.
