The New Testament On Audio For The Blind And Visually Impaired
Aim of the project:
To make the Scriptures available for the blind and visually impaired people.
Project summary:
According to the statistics, there are 20,000 visualy impaired people in Belarus today. Of them, 8,500 are completely blind. Some 10,000 people have second-degree disablement (they can only slightly see bright colors), and 1,500 are third-degree invalids. The number of visually impaired people in the country increases by 1,500 people each year. These people live under permanent stress, easily get into despair, and they will never be able to recover from such a state without God. The Bible Society published the book of the Belarusian NT, and the whole run had already been distributed. And it is very important that the Good News in the native language can be accessible to those having no ability to read.
The visually impaired people work at 16 industrial enterprises doing very simple things, and it could be possible to arrange listening to the NT records at the shop floors. Probably, it is the only opportunity for reaching the blind people with the Good News.
