"Zhemchuzhinka" recreation center
Children’s recreation center “Zhemchuzhinka” (“Little Pearl”) was founded with the object of providing recreation for children from Chernobyl area. The center is situated at the picturesque place not far from Lepel' town (photo, below).
The children come from contaminated regions all the year round. Each shift consists of 300 kids, and lasts for 24 days. The whole school’s staff of teachers and the classes arrive at the center, and they have studies on full program.
Christina (11) came from Gomel region which has suffered most from the catastrophe. The young residents of the Gomel region suffer from many diseases with thyroid gland dysfunctions dominating among the cases. During the recreation course Christina will now be able to take the Bible from the library and read it (photo below).
